Tull Tuesday #10

War Child, released in October 1974, was the 7th studio album by Jethro Tull.  While the reviews were somewhat lackluster, the album sold over 500,000 copies. (Gold).

Three songs from the record, “Sealion”, “Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of A New Day”,  and “Bungle in The Jungle” received broad airplay, with Bungle in The Jungle reaching #4 and Skating Away reaching #75 on the US Charts.

It was suggested to me that I feature the song “The Third Hoorah” this week since Ian Anderson is from Scotland and the song includes a smattering of bagpipes. I’m sure that the fact that my old friend who made the suggestion is a piper is but a coincidence.

Hoorah!
