On Survival

Me, just a few years out . . .

I am no longer apologizing for being me.

I am so sick and tired of having to silence my beliefs and observations  for the sake of other people’s feelings . . . while they often have a complete, unashamed disregard for my own.

It has been said over the years that “if two people always agree, one of them is not necessary”.

These days, it is more like “agree or be silenced”.

Can our society survive this?

Society can not flourish under the current situation, but I believe the tide will turn. In my country, a recent poll showed that younger voters have had enough too and say they support a conservative government that wants the freedom of voice and ideas that our liberal government has suppressed.

I guess I’ve never felt that I had to silence my beliefs, and I was always happy to hear the beliefs of others…
