Being the husband of a fan of anything “Royal”, I have found myself watching video after video of the fetivities surrounding the Platinum Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth being the Queen Mum since arriving home last night.
My obersvation is that the Brithish government posess a plethora of color-coordinated horses and military uniforms. So many that if whoever was in charge of selling “Royal Stuff” decided to do so, they could use the proceeds to try again to take over the US just by purchasing our debt. However, that would sadly bring an end to any 4th of July festivities. Not to worry though, it won’t happen as China has first dibs.
As a long time Monty Python afficianado, I couldn’t help thinking of this skit as I watched all those soldiers and bands march up and down the square. (Not one of the best MP skits of all time, but funny nonetheless.) From the 1983 movie, The Meaning of Life.

I think it’s fairly safe to say that there will never, ever, be another Platinum Jubilee!
