February 6, 2022 marked the beginning of my 13th year as an active blogger. Surely not the greatest acheivement of my life, but it has allowed me to get to know people I would never of had the chance to meet otherwise. This week, while heading home from my Michigan sojourn, (2,122.2 miles total) I made a little detour to Newark, Ohio to visit with some friends. A sincere thank you to Kurt and Kate for hosting my visit and for the guys that took time out of their busy schedules to come by to say hi.
Doug Fine, who has since quit blogging and took his sites down, is the one who got me started on this journey. I took his suggestion and was soon introduced to Kurt Harden over at Cultural Offering and who oversees the 25 Blogs Guaranteed To Make You Smarter list. Kurt then introduced me to Steve Layman at A Layman’s Blog, which lead me to find Rob Firchau’s blog, The Hammock Papers. Many of us have met in person more than once, both in OH and SC, (The first time here) which is why it was so easy to do again..
I started with A Simple, Village Undertaker blog and then during the Summer of 2016, switched things around and started the Mitigating Chaos blog. Interesting to note, the Undertaker blog still gets 50-60 views a day, even though nothing new has been put on it since 2016.

From the Right, Rob, Kurt, Steve, Ray and non blogger, Tom
A few months ago, I penned a brief staory entitled Internet Friendship.
Thank you to the thousands of readers who have come, gone/stayed over the years and to those that continue sharing stories, wisdom and humor on their pages, making me smarter every day.
Congratulations!!! It IS an excellent accomplishment—perseverance without a paycheck is hard to find!!!Blessings Carrie

As long as it stays fun, I’ll keep doing it. Hope all is well on the left coast.
