Two for the price of one.
It’s often said that life is strange, but compared to what?
Each year during this week, I share this song by Steve Forbert, January 23-30, 1978. A quaint song that closes out the Jacakrabbit Slim record. It is a song about going home after being away, seeing friends and remembering the good times. It has always been one of my favorite Forbert songs to play and to listen to.
Also, I saw earlier today that Cyndi Lauper’s video, “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” has now reached a Billion views!
Steve Forbert, who was friends with Lauper at the time, plays her boyfriend and can be seen at 3:45 in the video wearing the tux. Released in 1983… When music videos still mattered.

He’s checked out. It’s a long story. I’ll be in Newark on Monday 2/7 and Kurt is rounding up the gang. I hope you can join us. I’ll fill you in more then, not that I know much.
