Just A Hint Of Irony

I’m going to tip-toe here as I do not want to offend a guy I consider a “Blogging Buddy”

One who is a  member of the esteemed 25 Blogs Guaranteed to Make You Smarter.

A gentleman who I trust has a keen and forgiving sense of humor and who I know practices in a  category of law distant from what I reference below.

Each morning, I read his blog. . . Future Lawyer .   I’m not a lawyer, but it is an entertaining blog.

This morning, he posted an article titled  Long John Silver’s Cares About Its Customers. Albeit short, I think it is safe to say he poked fun at them for the sign.

I will admit that I do not recall ever being in a Long John Silver’s so I can’t vouch for the authenticity of said sign.

The irony, at least as I see it, is that signs like that have become necessary since the world is home to a plethora of people who just aren’t thinking and/or paying attention.  Fortunately for them, there is a reserve of attorneys who make a living filing lawsuits that result in companies having to post signs like this…. or that the hot coffee that you just purchased in McDonald’s might just be hot.

I m digressing a bit, but there is a TV commercial for some drug that I can’t recall the name of, but lets call it Placebo A.  After spouting all the benefits of Placebo A, the announcer goes into the warnings, which start with “Don’t take Placebo A if you are allergic to Placebo A.”   It had to be some corporate attorney that made them put that in there.

So, I could not let this pass me by without hinting at the irony.
