Say Their Names

Say Their Names!

My father was a police chief and back when I was 18 years old and thinking about getting “on the job,” he actually foresaw what is happening today  and made it very clear (as only he could) that I was not going to be a police officer.

Through my decades in Fire/EMS, I have come to be friends with countless men and women in the Law Enforcement Community and two PSOs I worked with in Aiken, SC were murdered within 30 days of each other in late 2011/early 2012.  Like the others below, Scotty  Richardson and Sandy Rogers simply went to work one day, but never came home to their families.

As of today, April 22, 2021,  there has been 103 police officers die in the line of duty so far this year. Thirty Four  of them were from being attacked. . .  profiled for “working while blue”.

That is almost one ever four days!

They weren’t committing crimes.

They weren’t resisting arrest

They weren’t under the influence of drugs/alcohol

They were murdered simply for being law enforcement officers.

Their funerals didn’t get wall to wall media coverage, they weren’t buried in $40,000 caskets like movie stars and their bodies weren’t flown from state to state for media events, (remember, I also know my caskets)

The lying, boot licking  media can kiss my flabby white ass. The police are the only thing standing between safety and anarchy, which is why those wanting to destroy our great Country want to remove that obstacle.

  3. Bless you. Too many have died for no real reason except they wore the blue. I honor the Blue.

It’s unfortunate that the good cops get lumped in with the few bad ones out there.

  6. I wish there was a love button on this post Ray. My Grandpa and my uncle were police officers in our small town when I was a kid. I had and still have great respect for them. My Grandpa put up with a lot of crap, even in a small town, in the 60’s as did my uncle in the 70’s. When they passed away a lot of those kids who were always in trouble came to pay their respects. The media needs to get back to the business of telling the truth even if they don’t like it because that is actually their job and not spinning news for high ratings. Thanks for this post Ray!
