December is a month, but it is also an epic album by pianist George Winston. Released in 1982, I didn’t stumble on it to around 1988, when I was introduced to Windham Hill Records, but have been listening to it regularly ever since.  It has often been the only background music played at the funeral homes I have owned or managed.

If I was forced to pick only ten albums to ever be able to listen to again, December  would be on the list.

Here is the wiki on December

Maybe you have never heard of it,  but you can never say that again.

About Ray V.

Living between Aiken & Nashville, TN, USA, I like to share what I am looking at, thinking about or listening to. I refer to this as the view out my window. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Amen. Kind of the theme song to my childhood winters. ❤️

  2. That is beautiful Ray. I may have to investigate and get that album. Piano music seems to fit for any time of year or occasion

I agree, one of the all-time great albums. I was lucky to see George in concert a couple of years ago.

Yes, I can just ‘hear’ it being played in the funeral homes we’ve been to over the years!
