Things are starting to settle down and I’m not having to commute 262 miles each day. Thank you to the owner of my company for providing me a place to stay. Driving that much leaves little time or mental reserves for blogging. I’m looking forward to the tourist season being over next week as I am less than ten minutes from the ocean/beach and plan on spending some quiet time there.
But, I’ve been noticing some things and wanted to share them.

I don’t watch much TV, but it seems that ads for DNA testing companies such as 23 and me, Ancestry DNA and My Heritage have disappeared. I found an article from February noting that the consumer DNA test boom has gone bust due to market saturation and privacy concerns.
So I wasn’t imagining it.
Trends come and trends go.

Women and scammers posing as attractive and horny women wanting to sell you subscriptions to their live “modeling” videos and other assorted “activities” have been a mainstay of email and social media for years. These daily, unsolicited contacts number in the dozens, but now they have started even on LinkedIn!
Business is business, I suppose.

A note from Parenting 101: “You don’t negotiate with terrorists” made me chuckle since our girls never rose to that level, but there were some trying days that hopefully have been forgotten by all involved.

MTV began broadcasting music videos 39 years ago, back when music videos mattered. The first place I saw them was in the apartment used by Overlook Hospital’s Mobile Intensive Care Unit (Medic II) in Summit, NJ, where I was an EMT Driver. We didn’t have cable at our family home yet and the first video I can remember seeing was “You Got Another Thing Comin'” by Judas Priest.
And oh yeah, I had a crush on Martha Quinn.

I’ve been holding this paragraph for almost two years now.
Did you ever look forward to meeting someone you admired because you read their books/blogs, watched their podcasts, and believed you were philosophically congruent with them? Then, when you finally got to meet them, shake their hand, and profess your appreciation of their work, they were dismissive and arrogant to the point where you walked away in shocked silence? I had that experience and without sounding dramatic, it was one of the biggest disappointments of my life. His loss.

The Drudge Report used to be a good collection point of news. Liberal and conservative…it was all there, the good the bad and the ugly. Over the last few years, Drudge has gone all-in with Trump Derangement Syndrome and you can’t find a positive article anywhere on his site.
So, I have found a page that provides an alternative to Drudge and it is called the Tatum Report, edited by Brandon Tatum I encourage you to visit his page, get news you won’t find in the democratic news media and learn about this very interesting man. . . who does not fit the narrative, as defined by the same democrats.

Lastly, Adeline, 13 months old today, continues to play my heartstrings and I look forward to spending some beach time with her in a few weeks.
Have a great week y’all.
Ray! As always, I sat here nodding in agreement with you…especially the ‘in person’ disappointment— I guess disillusionment keeps us from putting people on pedestals…most of the time. I suspect if I ever have the opportunity to meet you, it will not disappoint me…you show your tender underbelly…and you are too in love with your precious Adeline!

I get a laugh out of seeing some of the first music videos from MTV. Talk about low-tech. On the other hand, at least MTV had music videos in those days. I seldom watch it anymore, but it seems like they never have music now.

Low tech, maybe….Better than the crap that passes for music today..definitely.

I remember what a phenomenon MTV was when it first launched, and I just sat there for a few hours watching video after video…
I’ll have to check out Brandon Tatum…
Have fun at the beach!

Lot caught my attention here. 262 miles. Blogger arrogance. Baby picture. Yearning for more. 😀

He is more than a blogger…. internationally known author and speaker. I’ve mentioned him a few times over the years, but not since that event when I paid to hear him speak … and insult me. 😊. I forgive him, but I’ll never look at him the same.

If I was in your shoes, my reaction would be the same. Exactly the same. Life’s too short.

TDS – such a debilitating mental health condition. I have a few friends who are suffering from it. Their hate is so toxic… I would have liked, however, to have seen their faces when my other American friends posted on Facebook that they had taken part in a Trump boat parade…

Hi Ray! Your granddaughter is adorable!! I hope you have fun spending time with her (I’m sure you will!). I don’t do politics, but I can’t believe MTV is 39 yrs old! Yikes!
As for the fellow blogger encounter, that saddens me. I agree – his loss.
I hope you have a fantastic week!
