Resume Enhancement

Most of this week has been spent home with the dogs.   In addition to our two Labs, I am dog sitting Megan and Andrew’s two rescues for a few weeks  while Megan is back in Houston for surgery and my wife is with her as Andrew just started his residency in Michigan.

My primary role, in addition to feeding them is that of an:

“Emotional Support Human.”

Our two dogs have gotten needy as they have their routines, which have been disrupted, and are not used to the energy of their much younger “cousins.”  Adding to that, they are not used to having to stand in line for belly rubs and treats.

From Left: Big Red, Mackenzie, Martha and Winnie

For the younger two, they have been removed from their family and home and I’m sure they could not understand why our dogs, which weigh at least twice as much as them, were occasionally growling, snapping and just walking away.

After just a few days, everyone was getting along just fine, but continue vying for my attention.

Tonight I’ll be searching online to see if I can find an “Emotional Support Human” vest that I can wear around town. I think it might be a great conversation starter.

You must be getting a lot of dog comforting time with all of the fireworks going off. Each year seems to get a little harder. There are very few screaming fireworks this year, but way more mortar type.

They like having their picture taken.
