The boredom continues and I decided to share my new hobby with you.
Has anyone ever taken the time to go through your junk/spam folder, message by message?
For years, I neglected that folder, only using the “delete all” command and zapping a few thousand emails at a time, without looking at them.
Lately, I’ve been reviewing them daily and have tried to make sense of how someone might think its a good idea to click on them. . . or why they keep sending the same ones daily?
So today, I only have received 106 messages that got routed to my junk folder.
Light day. I suppose the spammers were taking a long weekend or something as usually I have at least 140.
My favorite daily message is from “Coach Todd” telling me that if I buy and drink his magic potion, I can lose 84 lbs like the guy in the picture.
Here are just a few more of the things I find on a daily basis:
Political solicitations, more, weight loss remedies, CBD oil adds, “Anti-virus” adds, (guaranteed to drop a virus into your computer), fix my credit score, gift certificates from Lowe’s, CVS and VISA, an invitation to get Section 8 housing, an offer from Mother Teresa Stang (Whose email says her name is Stanley White, but I digress) who is dying of the virus and wants to give me a bunch of money to do good with before she dies, and let us not forget the natural and not so natural supplements to fix “my junk” (not junk folder) and of course the offers from the ladies wanting to check to see if it’s been fixed. You get the message. right?
I was tempted to click on the one that would help me find my criminal records online but then realized my “criminal record” consisted of only three, speeding tickets from my younger years. Hardly seems worth it.
Every once in a while, a “real email” finds its way into the junk folder and now, since I check every day, I can rescue it.
Yes, social distancing has caused us to take up some interesting habits.
How about you?
