Thanks for all the birthday wishes today. They have been coming in from so many directions that I haven’t been able to keep track of them all. This is a big year for me and most of my classmates.
60, the new 30 (but with meds)*
Now, to the person who sent me this picture…. thanks for the warm thoughts. (Only a fellow funeral director would think to send this).
Get it?
This actually is a coffin, as opposed to a casket, which is what we typically see. It is based on the shape. What you observe above is “anthropoidal” in shape, referring to the shape of a human….narrow at the head, wider at the shoulders and narrow at the feet. (occasionally wider at the hips) A casket is rectangular.
Another journey around the sun begins.
59 down, ? to go.
Thanks for being part of it so far.
*For the record, except for Motrin for my aches and pains, I take no other meds.
Happy Birthday,Ray! Just remember, age is just a number. What counts is how you live day by day. Being 60 now is different from being 60 many years ago. Just saying.

I’m cognizant that I feel better at 61 then I did at 58. I’m sure that trend won’t continue, but I’m going to ride that wave as long as I can. Have a great birthday, Ray!
