I Got To Thinking

Yesterday, I posted Throwing Back & Looking Forward and I got to thinking about those days, especially the picture.  Let’s face it, it’s not one of ny better photographs, closed eyes and all.

Who among us remembers taking a roll of pictures, dropping it off for development and then returning with  the anticipation of opening the envelope and seeing how/if they came out nice or were duds?

The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.

It goes hand in hand with the great joy of listening to a record album, side one and then side two….reading the liner notes or the lyrics. MP3 files just aren’t the same.

Today, pictures can be taken and instantly you know if it came out.

No Suspense.

No imagination.

And, it turns into this:

About Ray V.

Living between Aiken & Nashville, TN, USA, I like to share what I am looking at, thinking about or listening to. I refer to this as the view out my window. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I loved the excitement of getting photos back from the store. Especially if they were from vacation. Yes there was the agony of defeat…like my candid wedding photos that were lost so I never got to see those! Aaahhhh well…..39 years later and it does not matter I guess.
