On Hope

Megan, surrounded by the goodness of God, July 2002 (one of my favorite photographs)

Hope is
being convinced
that you are surrounded
and pursued
by the goodness of God

That He works all things
for good is the end
so if it’s not good
it’s not the end

And that there is no story
of tragedy or grief
where He
won’t have
the last word
