On This Day. . .

On this day in 1971, Russian-born composer, Igor Stravinsky, died in New York City at the age of 88.

Below is Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic introducing Stravinsky on  “The Creative Performer”  which aired on January 31, 1960,  five weeks before I was born!

    It’s funny, the one composer I can only take in small doses is Stravinsky.
    He was brilliant, though!

    I agree and do not listen to his work on a regular basis. When you need a topic to post about however, he fit the bill perfectly
