The Next Chapter

Drink this for me. . . you’re grandparents to be!

One way to think about our lives is to break our years down into chapters.  Looking back, most of us will see happy chapters, sad chapters, challenging chapters and if we are honest, chapters we wish could have been left on the editing room floor.

Our family now begins a new, joyful chapter. Well, it actually began almost three months ago when Elissa and Cole quietly told the family she was pregnant on Thanksgiving morning. (Thus the turkey on the label)

They wanted to wait a few months before going public and after a positive 12-week checkup Thursday,  the wait ended today.

S’more fun coming this August!

Congratulations Elissa & Cole!

Mom & I look forward to the adventure chapter called grandparenting!

  1. I’ve always thought it strange that people are congratulated on the prospect of, or actually, becoming, grandparents, so I shall not do that. What I will do is wish Elissa a healthy, and trouble free pregnancy and delivery, and advise Cole to be extra vigilant, do as he’s told, and not to panic. Mother, and mother’s mother always know best!

Congrats to all of you! To you Ray and your wife, make sure that you circle Grandparents Day into your ever growing personal calendar—-the 1st Sunday in Sept. after Labor Day. For 2019, it’s on Sept. 8.

Congratulations! This is lovely and exciting news. Becoming a grandparent changed my life and I don’t think there’s anything I can point to that means more to me. It sure does soften the other aspects of getting older. 🙂
