You Can’t Make This Stuff Up

thNor should you want to.

Earlier this Summer, we were dining at a well known, oceanfront eating establishment on Isle of Palms, SC  and the waitress advised us that they were told not to give straws out unless they were pushed to do so.  Really?

I was reminded of that event this evening as I read a post on Fueled by Chocolate Blog

“Try to wrap your minds around this: we’re legalizing the sale of marijuana, but criminalizing the use of straws. Sanctuary cities are refusing to report illegal aliens, but threatening to put waiters in jail for providing their customers an unrequested straw.”

  1. The CA legislature also passed a law to prevent schools from starting before 8:30 am – because some study said teens do better in school if they get to sleep in everyday. The governor vetoed it.

Oh and by law, a restaurant can’t give you a glass of water here – you have to ask for one first (to save water).

    Seriously, welcome to CA

Here in Canada, our government has now legalized marijuana right across the country. Provinces can not opt out. The government hasn’t banned straws yet, but they are going to force a carbon tax on the entire country. I’d rather have the straw ban instead of the marijuana or carbon tax…
