Big Red (L) & Mackenzie 2017
The usual “Sunday Pipes” has been replaced today by a special presentation:
Today, we celebrate the 8th birthday of the twins. Since they are dogs, we are concurrently celebrating their 56th birthday
Mackenzie and Big Red, even though we still sometimes refer to them as “The Puppies” they are getting a little grey around their snouts.
The story of them joining our family can be found in: Sunday Night Dog Night
There are lots of stories on my old A Simple Village Undertaker Blog and all you need to do is enter in “Black Labs” in the search box.
Even though they are eight years old, both still have abundant energy and will chase tennis balls for hours.
One of our elder dogs, Snickers, died last month. (He Was A Good Dog) That leaves Maggie who turned 15 in March.

Once upon a time.
There has been no talk yet about getting a puppy to build our bench strength. I’m not going to start that conversation.
Happy Birthday Mackenzie and Big Red.
Such cute puppies and even now in their middle-age, they’re still cute.

My schnauzers are 8 year old twins, too – what a great post! And we still call them “the puppies,” too! 🙂

I sometimes refer to the youngest two of my four daughters as the little ones, even though they have a younger brother! Old habits die hard!
