I cannot comprehend what happened today in Florida and that comes from a guy with 35+ years in Emergency Services and as a funeral director.
I need to escape. I’m done. Turn off the TV, maybe forever.
I need the music of my youth.
A story of a simpler time. Told by the late, great Peppi Marchello.
This song is so 1970’s.
I was there to have me a good time
I bought a drink for a lady at the pinball game
She said, “My name is Deon and before we go on
let me guess your name.”
Bill means tall, and Joe means cute
Fred means cool, and Tom is smart, who are you?
Coo Coo Coo, Coo Coo Coo
Since your face could stop a clock
I’ll call you Coo Coo Coo
“Very funny”,
I just laughed to show her I was sharp as a tack
She said, “Better beat it turkey, before my boyfriend
gets back.”
Too late too late too late now you’re in a mess
He said, “I’m her man, do you know who I am?”
I sez now “let me guess”
Bill means tall, and Joe means cute
Fred means cool, and Tom is smart, who are you?
Coo Coo Coo, Coo Coo Coo
Since your face could stop a clock
I’ll call you Coo Coo Coo
Next thing I know I was flying right across the room
He threw a right that missed but I tripped on a stool
Let me let me help you came a friendly voice
He sez “I’d like to introduce you to the boys”
This is Bill and this is Joe
(“How ya doin’, Handsome?”),
this is Fred and I am Tom, who are you?
Coo Coo Coo, Coo Coo Coo
Coo Coo Coo, Coo Coo Coo
Since my face could stop a clock,
Call me Coo Coo Coo
I am just so sad! A terrible tragedy. I plan to “get lost” in something…just not sure what yet! I was not familiar with this song or group! I think although I didn’t recognize it, I would have pegged it for the ’70s!

The Good Rats were from Long Island, NY and my favorite band growing up and to this day. Lots of their music on my old, “undertaker” blog… search “The Good Rats” if you are so inclined . My wife and one daughter are teachers and it keeps hitting closer to home.

A Valentine massacre essentially, occurring on the Day of Hearts.

Awwww….I love the 70s too but this is one I don’t recognize. Unfortunately I recognize evil and tragedy when I see and hear it, which seems to be more often these days
