Ten Years Seems Like Yesterday

fogelberg-dan-511700d32b527Ten years ago today, prostate cancer took the life of Dan Fogelberg at age 56.

It has been said by many that Dan had written the soundtracks of their lives. I include myself in that group.

I have always enjoyed his early works. . . before the pressure of having to turn out “hits” for the record company took over.

In college, I played with a few folks and most of our sets were songs from the Captured Angel and Souvenirs albums.  I wish I could have played those songs as well back then as I can today. (of course 37 years of practicing them probably helps).

Recalling when CD players were first introduced to the general public in 1984, Twin Sons of Different Mothers was the first CD I purchased with my new, Pioneer player.

So many beuatiful songs to pick from, but here is a version of one I have not heard before, illustrating Dan’s talents. Originally from the High Country Snows record.

May your memory be eternal and we will see you at the grocery store on Christmas Eve.
