Who Invited The Dog?

Martha has learned something new this week.   She shas mastered the skill of chewing through the  seam of  a comforter on one day and then a pillow today, both times getting  access to the stuffing.

The other night, she was alone for a few minutes and chewed through the comforter on our bed.  Not a big deal as it was slated to be replaced soon anyway, but just like when an animal tastes blood. . .  they want more.

Martha, Martha, Martha

This afternoon, in the space of just a few minutes and less that 15 feet away from me, but around the corner, she very quietly  disemboweled the pillow from Maggies bed.

Maggie is OK with the situation as I replaced her old pillow with one of our spare, old pillows, but of good quality for a dog’s bed.

I didn’t catch MArtha in the act, so she gets a pass.  But she did get “The Look” and then would not make eye contact with me.

After a hard afternoon of destroying stuff and digging holes in the yard, it was naptime.

Luckily for both of us, Megan gets home from Houston on Saturday and can start to re-train her dog.

Not proud of what she’s done.

Maybe she’s got a stuffing inbalance. Very common in dogs — especially those who have no problem eating a pillow or two. Keep an eye on her!

Oh Martha …. such skill but maybe not the skill your humans want you to use. 🙊

  6. Maybe she was missing her mom. We have a beagle that does similar things, though the favourite right now seems to be disembowelling soft toys!

Poor Martha is missing her mom and acting out. When they skulk away and avoid eye contact it just cracks me up! haha!

It’s tough being a dog. And being destructive is just too darn exhausting. Phew!
