One, Very Good Reason To Blog

One of the benefits of blogging is that I get to “virtually meet” people from all around the world, learning about interesting places and things.

Every once in a while, I am fortunate and actually get to meet another blogger in person, strengthening the bonds formed online.

Steve and I met once before, here, “Now A Destination”.   Other blogger summits include Kurt Talks and People Listen  and Officially a Tradition.

When he learned that I was traveling up to New Jersey to visit my parents, Steve Landry sent a message, inviting me to join him for breakfast if my schedule allowed.  I made the time.

Earlier today, we met at the iconic Scotchwood Diner on Rt. 22 in Scotch Plains, NJ and spent an hour or so getting caught up on our respective current events.  Time flew by and then Steve needed to make his way towards the University and I meandered back to my parent’s. Waiting for me was the task of getting my mother’s iPad back in operational order after sitting dormant for several months.  Mission accomplished and now she should be able to get back on FB to follow her friends and family.

Thanks for being a great host, Steve. . . and special thanks for the treats from your humidor.

Me (L) and Steve.

We do make real friends in this sphere. I think of it as like the Pen Pals we used to have before this internet was invented. Or at least I had penpals. I have only met one of my blogging community (and he has since stopped — I hope it wasn’t something I said!!) but I hope to meet many more over the years because you are right, it is one very good reason for blogging 🙂
